Bid war between Arsenal and Liverpool for Mbappe: see who wins

Liverpool and Arsenal could agree stunning deal with Kylian Mbappe in three days as PSG contract talks stall
Liverpool and Arsenal could agree a sensational deal with Kylian Mbappe ahead of his contract expiring in the summer of 2024.

Mbappe was strongly linked with a move away from Paris Saint-German before the start of the 2023/24 season.

He has told his current side that he intends to leave the club next summer on a free transfer.

Real Madrid have been long associated with the superstar forward, having attempted to secure his luxurious services over the years.

Not to mention Premier League duo Liverpool and Arsenal, who have both reportedly expressed an interest in the 25-year-old.

Well, Mbappe can be contacted from January 1 by clubs looking to sign him in the summer on a blockbuster free transfer.

So, Liverpool and Arsenal will be allowed to open talks over a potential deal with a view to snapping him up at the end of the current season.

They can strike a pre-contract with the Frenchman as his deal is set to expire.

Liverpool could be in the market for a new forward as club legend Mohamed Salah will see his contract expire in 2025. He’s been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League and to avoid a free scenario situation, the Reds could look to sell their prized asset next summer.

Arsenal, meanwhile, could also look to add more firepower up front as they lack in that department.

PSG will be powerless to Mbappe talking to other clubs, having previously rejected a bid of £137 million from Real. The French giants, though, accepted Al Hilal’s monstrous bid of £259 million and gave representatives of the Saudi Pro League side permission to discuss the transfer with Mbappe, who declined to speak to the club’s delegation.

He’s not the only player who can talk to other clubs when January 1 rolls around.

Arsenal’s Jorginho, Manchester United pair Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof and West Ham United’s Tomas Soucek can also be contacted by clubs looking to sign them in the summer.

Not to mention Toni Kroos, Adrien Rabiot and Piotr Zielinski.
