Hunter Lawrence Reflects on Racing Without Jett at Tampa Supercross: “We Find Confidence in Each Other”

The Tampa Supercross was a different experience for Hunter Lawrence, as the Team Honda HRC rider took on the 450SX class without his brother, Jett Lawrence, by his side. Jett, who has been dealing with a knee injury, was forced to sit out, leaving Hunter to navigate the grueling competition alone.

For Hunter, racing without Jett was more than just a physical challenge—it was an emotional one. “He’s been more than my brother,” Hunter admitted. “We both find confidence in each other, and not having him here changes things. But I know he’s watching, and that pushes me to give my best.”

The Lawrence brothers have been inseparable in their rise through Supercross and Pro Motocross, dominating the 250cc class before stepping up to the 450SX division. Their bond extends beyond racing, as they push each other to improve daily through training and competition.

Despite the absence of his younger brother, Hunter remained focused on his performance, determined to represent Team Honda HRC at its best. The Tampa track proved challenging, but Lawrence showed resilience, proving he belongs among the elite riders in the 450SX championship hunt.

With Jett’s recovery still uncertain, Hunter is embracing the opportunity to step up as a leader, both for his team and for himself. “It’s different, but I’m up for the challenge. This is what we trained for, and I know Jett will be back stronger. Until then, I’m giving it everything I’ve got.”

Hunter Lawrence’s determination is clear—he’s not just Jett’s brother; he’s a contender in his own right. And with or without his sibling alongside him, he’s ready to make his mark in the 450SX class.
