Analyst says one NFL head coach is both unsafe
What does the future hold for the Philadelphia Eagles? Many of their plans may depend on their performance in the playoffs this season.
Many of their top offensive linemen are retiring, which could mean a changing of the guard soon for this team. As Craig Carton said recently, the Eagles could trade Nick Sirianni depending on how they perform over the next few weeks. Carton said Sirianni is “not safe,” even though his team and most Eagles fans prefer him as the head coach. “Nick Sirianni is not safe. If I’m in Philly and it’s not going well, I’m the first team to try to hit the Chargers on the phone and bring in Bill Belichick and they’d love him in Philadelphia,” Carton. said If the team moves on from Sirianni in the offseason, Carton believes the Eagles should look to replace him with a legendary coach.
Speaking of that scenario, Carton said the Eagles should be “the first team to try to beat the Chargers on the phone and get Bill Belichick in and they’d love him in Philadelphia.” Of course, this conversation is purely speculative at this point, as Sirianni still has the Eagles job. Also, Bill Belichick is still the coach of the New England Patriots, although most reports indicated that he is out the door in the offseason. If the Eagles do make a coaching change, it will be interesting to see who they go with to lead one of the most talented teams in the NFC.
Jalen Hurts is committed to the team for the foreseeable future, and as an annual MVP candidate, a head coach like Belichick would be in an ideal position with him at the helm.
