After $300M Catalog Deal, KISS to Release New EP This July to Mark 50th Anniversary Milestone
The makeup may be off, but the fire still burns. Just months after finalizing a $300 million deal to sell their music catalog, brand rights, and likeness to Sweden’s Pophouse Entertainment, legendary rock band KISS is preparing to unleash something new: a commemorative EP set for release in July 2025 to mark the band’s 50th anniversary.
Though KISS officially ended their farewell tour with an emotional final performance at Madison Square Garden in December 2023, the band has made it clear that “the end of the road” was merely a turning point, not a full stop.
Their landmark deal with Pophouse—co-founded by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus—cemented their legacy in a whole new way. The agreement will not only allow the creation of digital avatar concerts (à la ABBA Voyage) but also preserve the band’s larger-than-life presence in the digital age for future generations. And now, it seems, the legendary rockers aren’t done surprising fans just yet.
According to sources close to the group, the upcoming EP will include both unreleased material and re-recorded versions of classic hits, breathing new life into the sound that defined a generation. One track in particular is said to include rare studio recordings from the band’s early days—possibly featuring vocals or guitar takes that fans have never heard before.
The EP will serve as the centerpiece of KISS’s 50th anniversary celebrations, which also include the much-anticipated “KISS Army Storms Vegas” fan event happening in November 2025 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. The three-day experience will feature an unmasked performance, Q&A sessions, rare memorabilia displays, and appearances by current and former members—including Bruce Kulick.
Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, the band’s co-founders and longtime frontmen, have remained vocal about wanting the KISS legacy to evolve beyond the traditional touring model. With the upcoming EP, they’re showing fans that creativity and celebration don’t have to stop when the touring does.
“50 years of KISS isn’t just about looking back,” a spokesperson for the band said. “This EP is about honoring the past while reimagining what KISS can be in the future.”
Between the upcoming digital avatar shows set to launch in Las Vegas in 2027 and the buzz surrounding the July EP, KISS is proving once again why they’re more than just a band—they’re an unstoppable brand, a cultural force, and a rock ‘n’ roll phenomenon that continues to evolve, even after saying goodbye to the stage.
So mark your calendars, KISS Army: this summer, the legends are turning up the volume—one more time.
