The Eagles quarterback suffered a finger injury on his throwing hand last week and we now have an update on that injury as we head into Monday night’s Wild Card game.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers managed to clinch their playoff spot and win the NFC South on Sunday after defeating the Carolina Panthers 9-0. The Bucs then had to wait and see how the late games played out to find out who they would host in the Wild Card round, the Dallas Cowboys or the Philadelphia Eagles.
As things continued in both the Eagles and Cowboys games, it became apparent that the Bucs were indeed hosting the Eagles; a team that they lost to 25-11 in Week 3 of the season.
The Eagles haven’t been quite the dominant team they appeared to be early in the season, and they suffered some scares in their latest loss to the Giants on Sunday, including an injury to starting quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Hurts suffered a sprained middle finger on his throwing hand in the game, but appears to have avoided a more serious injury that could have kept him out of the Wild Card game against the Buccaneers.
Hurts avoided a full broken finger after negative X-rays and is taking things one day at a time as he prepares for a chance to advance to the next round of the playoffs on Sunday.

Fortunately, both teams have an extra day to rehab and rest as the game is scheduled for Monday night. Even with a full extra day, it will be interesting to see how much the sprain affects his assists in game time..
