Insider Gives Update On Jalen Hurts’ Injury

The Philadelphia Eagles took a major ego hit on Sunday after the New York Giants cruised to victory over them in the final game of the regular season.

The loss had other consequences as wide receiver A.J. Brown and quarterback Jalen Hurts were injured in the game.

Brown left with a knee injury and did not return, while Hurts was sidelined briefly after dislocating his middle finger but returned before the Eagles put their starters in after halftime.

While the severity of Brown’s injury is not yet known, X-rays taken of Hurts’ finger showed that the quarterback did not have a fracture and is on the day-to-day list, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

This is probably the most positive news to come out of Philadelphia in weeks, as Hurts’ availability will likely determine how the Eagles fare against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday.

Hurts has been inconsistent at times this season, but has mostly kept the Eagles in games when the defense has collapsed.

However, if Hurts can’t go, Marcus Mariota would play under center in a road playoff game.

The Eagles are playing their worst football at the worst time, and injuries continue to pile up late in the season. Tight end DeVonta Smith and cornerback Darius Slay will miss Week 18 with injuries and safety Sydney Brown’s ACL. a game

The last time the Eagles faced the Buccaneers in Week 3, Philadelphia won easily 25-11.

But both teams changed during the season, and the Eagles look less like the team that went to the Super Bowl a year ago..
