The retired star wide receiver and current” Inside the NFL” personality Chad Johnson faces a Philadelphia Eagles team that appears to be limping into Monday’s wild-card game at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 9-8.
“I know Eagles fans, you’re all upset” Johnson said in a video he posted to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, according to Justin Terranova of the New York Post. andquot;I think they will fix it. I think the Eagles players are playing possum”
The Eagles represented the NFC in Super Bowl LVII last February, where they fell to the Kansas City Chiefs. Philadelphia then started the current campaign 10-1 before a 42-19 home loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13 seemed to send the NFC East team into a tailspin. All told, the Eagles lost five of six games to end the regular season, with their only win in those contests coming in a narrow 33-25 home victory over the New York Giants (6-11) on Christmas Day.
Persistent whispers suggest Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni could find himself on the hot seat if Philadelphia loses to Tampa Bay’s at Raymond James Stadium. As Michael Dixon of Awful Announcing “Eagles Postgame Live” host Michael Barkann ripped a Philadelphia team that was “no passion, no intensity, no extra effort, no desire” last Sunday and after a 27-10 loss to the Giants.
Johnson obviously wasn’t that far behind the Eagles before the postseason.
“I know what they are doing” Johnson kept talking about the Eagles”. They let their bodies heal, their minds heal mentally and see what happens during the playoffs. See what happens next week. Look what I’m telling you. Don’t lie... Check out what these guys are up to. I know that. I got to know their game. I know what they are doing” As of Tuesday afternoon, the DraftKings Sportsbook listed the Eagles as the three-point favorite over the Buccaneers. Perhaps players in the game after Week 18 share Johnson’s opinion..
