The Philadelphia Eagles, one of the best teams in the last two years, have lost five of their last six games to finish the regular season and will play in the Wild Card round of the playoffs in Tampa Bay.
Whatever happens in that game on Monday night, many fans and members of the media believe that head coach Nick Sirianni should be fired for the team’s collapse at the end of the season and poor coaching decisions.
“I don’t think it is very rational,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on 97.5 The Fanatic on Wednesday. “I don’t think it’s thinking too far ahead.” I believe it is very immediate, and this is the case.
Schefter went on to say that he does not believe Sirianni will be coaching on Monday night.
The Eagles have been on a downward spiral in recent months. They won the NFC in 2022 and were minutes away from winning Super Bowl LVII. Despite having the toughest schedule in football, they started 2023 10-1.
Despite their recent poor play, Sirianni made a coaching change at defensive coordinator and has consistently defended offensive coordinator Brian Johnson despite frustrating play-calls all season.
