It’s almost time for the Associated Press to release its 2023 NFL All-Pro rosters for the first and second teams.
It is possible that the San Francisco 49ers have several players selected for one of these reasons. Which 49ers will be named All-Pro in 2023 season? I predict the players who should receive the honor. I don’t want to include fullback Kyle Juszczyk because he’s basically the default player.
Trent Williams
I mean andquot;no duh!andquot; right? One of the easiest locks to make for All-Pro and voters is offensive tackle Trent Williams. Even missing three games isn’t enough to hurt their chances of survival. Williams is sure to make the first-team All-Pro list. Heand is an anchor for the 49ers in all areas, and that goes beyond how elite he is on the field as a run and pass blocker. It’s no coincidence that the 49ers lost all three games Williams missed, so that really helps his case (not like he needs it).
George Kittle
It wouldn’t be shocking to see George Kittle lose a step this year. He gets older and keeps getting hurt, but Kittle has flipped the script. This year, he showed that he continues to be an impact player that defensive players don’t want to be a part of. Kittle led all tight ends in receiving yards, receiving yards, route yards and passer rating per catch this season. He did all of that while essentially being the back end of the offense for the first half of the season. Kittle is a lock to make the first-team All-Pro team this year, and it helps that Travis Kelce is clearly at the end of his career.
Christian McCaffrey
I’m starting to sound like a broken record here. Of course, Christian McCaffrey is a first-team All-Pro this year. There is no doubt. He was in the MVP conversation this season, which is crazy for a point guard. The fact that he was alone in this is nothing short of amazing. And he probably would have won it too if Lamar Jackson hadn’t finished the season strong. Plus, McCaffrey was a scoring and passing machine. He totaled over 2,000 yards and scored 21 touchdowns. McCaffrey IS the second best running back in the league and it goes beyond the numbers. Heand has a big impact on the 49ers offense. Thanks to him, it’s much easier. The head key is called All-Pro and you better be first team.
Fred Warner
I’m convinced that Fred Warner is half human, half heat-seeking missile. The way he can locate the football and consistently finish plays at such a high level is insane. Like McCaffrey on offense, much of what the 49ers do on defense has worked well because Warner has developed well. He defends the run well and locks that pass into the ceiling. Heand#039;s also managed to be a turnover machine this year with four interceptions and four forced fumbles. I don’t have too strong a feeling about which team he’ll be on, but I’m sure Warner will be named All-Pro.
Charvarius Ward
Honor the Charvarius name andquot;Mooneyandquot; Ward. Recognition is something he doesn’t get enough of, but it seems like Ward has always been a top-10 cornerback in the league. He may not be a shutdown, ghost-busting corner, but he is a corner that quarterbacks look away from or have poor results when they try to target him. Ward deserves to be an All-Pro, especially since he really took off in the second half of the season. He also has interceptions (5) to back him up, which is really unfair because interceptions don’t describe whether a cornerback is good or not. But now at least he has shows and deals to finally do his thing..
