Leicester City were reportedly close to signing Manchester United attacker Amad Diallo on loan until the end of the season and were optimistic about completing a deal for the young winger.
Football Insider reported in December that the Foxes were set to compete with promotion rivals Sunderland for the Ivory Coast international on a short-term basis. Darren Witcoop also revealed a few days before the January transfer window opened that Ipswich Town had entered the race for the winger.
However, in an interview with GIVE ME SPORT, journalist Dean Jones revealed that Leicester were closer than previously reported to signing the 21-year-old, even claiming the club had the funds to do so.

Amad Diallo would have been a fantastic addition to Leicester City. However, Antony has failed to score a goal or record a single assist for the Red Devils this season, while Jadon Sancho has been loaned out, making a move away for the ex-Atalanta man increasingly unlikely.
