Fulham want to sign Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea and the Cottagers are making an inquiry to sign the Chelsea defender.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Fulham are interested in Trevoh Chalobah. The Cottagers are keen to sign centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo amid uncertainty over his future. As a result, they contacted West London club Chelsea to discuss a move for the 24-year-old.
Trevoh Chalobah looking for a solution
Trevoh Chalobah has reached a crossroads in his career following the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea. He has been with the west London club since the age of eight and rose through the ranks before making his first team debut a few years ago. But he had to bide his time before making the senior team.
The arrival of Thomas Tuchel helped Chalobah achieve his goal and he featured regularly under the German manager. But the 24-year-old’s stock has fallen over the past 18 months and is not part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans. Meanwhile, he is still playing this season as he recovers from a hamstring injury.
Trevoh Chalobah has a long-term contract with Chelsea but his future is uncertain and the west London club are ready to sign him. As the utility man is a homegrown talent, his sale will help Chelsea make an absolute profit. However, there is no shortage of interest in him and Fulham are interested.
Moving to London, calling?
Fulham’s interest in Chalobah is hardly surprising given that Tosin Adarabioyo faces an uncertain future at the west London club. The 26-year-old has reached the final six months of his contract, forcing Fulham to look for a replacement in the market. The Chelsea utility worker thus became a viable target.
Recent reports claimed that Fulham wanted to increase their interest in Trevoh Chalobah. Apparently that happened because the Cottagers made an inquiry about the 24-year-old. If Chelsea are prepared to part ways with the player, a move could be on the cards.
It will be interesting to see if the west London clubs complete a January transfer deal or wait until the summer. But Fulham’s decision to make an inquiry has made the Cottagers the number one choice for Chalobah. Crystal Palace and other suitors are now behind Fulham..
