Five key Crystal Palace players—including a midfield target for Liverpool—are sidelined due to injuries.
The midfield player suffered a serious Achilles injury that is expected to keep him out for the rest of the season, so he will not be able to show Jurgen Klopp what he is missing in the early kickoff this weekend.
Forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who has been sidelined until the new year due to a thigh issue, will be joining him on the sidelines.
Additional players sidelined for a brief period of time are Rob Holding and Eberechi Eze, who are both presently dealing with ankle issues and won’t be able to play against the Reds.
As Dean Henderson continues his recuperation, Crystal Palace, like Liverpool, will also be without one of their goalkeepers for the match.
At Selhurst Park, though, Henderson is no longer regarded as first choice after Sam Johnstone passed him in the standings.
Due to their continued absence from the trip south, Joel Matip, Diogo Jota, Alisson, Andy Robertson, Thiago, and Stefan Bajcetic will also be missing from Klopp’s lineup.
In order to preserve legs, squads usually need to be rotated in December, but both managers will have a lot on their plates.
With their 2-0 victory over Sheffield United, Liverpool put a significant distance between themselves and Man City. This weekend, Liverpool will look to maintain pressure on leaders Arsenal as they head to high-flying Aston Villa for the Saturday evening kickoff.
