Brendan Rodgers’ game management has been called into question as the fallout from Celtic’s loss at Rugby Park on Sunday continues.
The Celtic manager has already been chastised for continuing to play Nat Phillips, and now he’s been told he made a huge mistake by leaving Tomoki Iwata on the bench against Kilmarnock on Sunday.
The Japanese midfielder was substituted immediately after Killie equalized, and Stephen McGinn believes the Celtic manager made a mistake.
“I thought Iwata, it was quite harsh to take him off,” McGinn said on [The Go Radio Football Show]. He’s not Callum McGregor in possession, after all.
“He does a fantastic job off the ball.” I believe he nicked a real early in the second half.
That’s a good one. Celtic’s attack looked promising.
“It probably summed up the last few weeks in terms of wasting time around the final third from that point.”
“But I thought it was a big loss for them when he went off.”
