Crystal Palace are interested in signing an Arsenal forward and could do so as soon as the January transfer window opens.
Crystal Palace have hit a snag following a strong start to the 2023/24 Premier League season. Their form has deteriorated in recent weeks, and they are currently the joint-third lowest goal scorers in the division. They did, however, give their campaign a potential boost on Saturday when they came from 2-0 down to draw with Manchester City.
Now it appears that Palace manager Roy Hodgson has a plan to address their goal-scoring problem, as the club has been linked with a move for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah and could make a move for the player as soon as this week.
According to a recent FootballTransfers report, the upcoming January transfer window.
Despite playing second fiddle to Gabriel Jesus this season, Nketiah has been a standout for Arsenal. As of now, the England international has scored six goals and provided four assists in 22 appearances across all competitions. He isn’t the most prolific forward, but his work rate, movement off the ball, and technical ability would make him an asset to any Premier League team.
If Arsenal allows Nketiah to leave the Emirates Stadium during the January transfer window, they will be left with only Gabriel Jesus as natural strikers. While Jesus is a superior player and Mikel Arteta’s preferred striker, his injury history will be a concern.
Should Nketiah leave, another signing is required.
Of course, Arsenal could replace him with one of several top center-forwards. Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, and Dusan Vlahovic are all excellent signings who have been linked with moves to North London in the winter window.
