It appears that Manchester City has entered a challenging phase of their play without anyone noticing. They have only won 12 points from their last eight league games, having drawn their last three Premier League games and conceding 10 goals in their last four games across all competitions.
Traveling to Villa Park at this time of year is hardly ideal given that Aston Villa has won 13 straight Premier League games, their longest winning streak since October 1931. However, just like Man City, Villa is showing some signs of slowing down as the workload from the schedule starts to pile up.
Even though Villa’s performance is much better at Villa Park, their 2-2 draw with AFC Bournemouth on Sunday was somewhat fortunate. However, another midweek matchup
is going to be taxing on the legs, particularly for players who have started every league game this season, like Ollie Watkins, John McGinn, and Douglas Luiz.
However, there are still many reasons to think Villa can win and possibly even catch up to Man City in the standings.
