Chelsea target Victor Osimhene reveals Premier League dream
Chelsea target Victor Osimhene has rejected all immediate moves from Napoli but left the door open for a future move to the Premier League, via Fabrizio Romano X.
The forward is currently representing Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations of Nations and are looking to replicate their club form on the international stage. He is one of the best strikers in the world and now has the chance to lead the Super Eagles to the title.
The centre-forward has signed a new contract at Napoli with a new release clause and the Blues will continue their battle to sign the 25-year-old next summer. But then that’s to be expected because we don’t have a reliable goalscorer.
Asked about his future at LOSC Lille, the former player said he is not considering a move and will wait and see what happens. He also told Sky Sports, quoted by Fabrizio Romano:
“Of course I would like to play in the Premier League one day, absolutely. But at the moment I have other plans for my career. When the time comes, everyone will know. .“
Osimhen is 20 years old and has all the experience and pedigree to become one of the best strikers ever to come out of Africa. He proved that last season when he led Napoli to the Scudetto for the first time since 1990. Napoli is ninth in the league and the club’s performance seems to have declined.
If they continue like this, the Nigerian striker better look for other clubs who will always compete at the highest level. Chelsea are not yet under Mauricio Pochettino, but the signing of the prolific striker will certainly accelerate the club’s progress in the right direction.
The centre-forward remains a target for Chelsea and his arrival will bring plenty of goals up front. But as the summer approaches, other teams may want to sign him, making the competition tougher. In addition, he now has a release clause.
Osimhene remains Chelsea’s main target as they have spent heavily on players they really want. It is unclear if they plan to contact him in the summer..
