Tottenham Hotspur is prepared to spend £35 million to get Conor Gallagher, a 24-year-old midfield player for Chelsea.
Conor Gallagher is someone that Tottenham Hotspur would really like to have in their lineup, according to a GiveMeSport article. Prior to the upcoming season, the North London team is prepared to spend £35 million to get the 24-year-old Chelsea midfield player.
Conor Gallagher’s unclear Chelsea future
From the beginning of the season, Gallagher’s future has been the talk of the town, and it still is. The England international has spent his entire childhood at Chelsea. In the summer of 2022, he advanced through the ranks and joined their first squad.
Although having a respectable first full season, there were rumors that he might leave in the summer, but that didn’t work out. Since then, he has managed to find his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, but his future remains uncertain as his contract expires in the summer of 2025.
The Blues would be thrilled to have him stay longer at the team. However, neither side is able to come to an understanding. There’s a chance he’ll go for a steal if the West Londoners don’t manage to extend his contract before the end of the year.
Gallagher is the ideal addition to Spurs
Among the teams eager to have him join their ranks is Tottenham. Gallagher has long piqued the imagination of the North Londoners. The 24-year-old midfielder, in Ange Postecoglou’s opinion, is a fantastic fit for the team. Despite his contract expiring, they were unwilling to pay Chelsea’s £50 million value in order to sign him during the winter transfer window.
The England international’s worth is dropping as he approaches the last 12 months of his contract. Spurs will have no trouble paying the roughly £30 million to £35 million that is his realistic value during the summer.
Tottenham, however, is eager to have the 24-year-old join their team and believes that his arrival would enable them to advance. Spurs are still considering when to make a bid for the Chelsea star and are being a little cautious.
