“Can play at right and left-back” – Chelsea tipped to move for Premier League man

Chelsea have been tipped to move for an experienced and versatile Premier League player as the situation between him and the club evolves.

The Blues have been linked with potential new defenders in recent weeks and there are situations where they could need reinforcements at both ends of the defence.

Exclusive! 5 left backs now on Chelsea’s radar with general January transfer plans as things heat up!
Ben Chilwell has just returned from a long-term injury and usually gets injured. Marc Cucurella is sidelined with a long injury and his future is also uncertain. Ian Maatsen was recently loaned to Dortmund. Reece James is off the long-term injury list and, like Chilwell, is an injury risk. Thus, Malo Gusto is the only pillar that is completely reliable and remains 100% in the club at the moment.

Could they be looking at a hybrid player who can play both left and right back?

The answer is yes, they could, at least according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters has been mentioned as a possible target for Chelsea.

Crook told GIVEMESPORT:

“As for Walker-Peters, there is no sign that he has signed a new deal. I think they thought there was more interest from the Premier League than in the summer. They didn’t get a deal . single.

“I mentioned that West Ham were interested a few weeks ago as they are certainly looking for a better full-back, even Chelsea could come with Reece James’ injury problems.

“He can play at right-back and left-back, which would be ideal if Ben Chilwell spends time on the wing. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone tries to sign Walker-Peters before the end of the window..
