Ivan Toney has put Arsenal and Chelsea in the red after refusing to rule out relegation from Brentford in January.
The 27-year-old can resume playing now that he has served his eight-month ban for breaching FA betting rules.
After scoring 20 Premier League goals last season, Toney has been linked with a potential move in the winter window.
London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in a match between one of the English football teams.
But recently, Toney appeared to cancel all the speeches he had planned to make this month, insisting that he wants to repay the bees’ trust and support in him.
However, Toney has now hinted he would be ready to leave in January as he reiterated his desire to join the title-chasing group.
In a bombshell interview with Sky Sports, the former Newcastle striker said: “You can never predict when it’s the right time to move.
“But I think it’s clear that I would like to play at a top club – all of them. wants to play at top clubs who are fighting for the title.
“Who knows if this January is the right time for the club to come in and pay the right money?
“But the main focus is what I do on the pitch and I’ll let the background work take care of itself . .“
talkSPORT understands that Brentford would need at least £80m to even consider parting ways with Toney.
Earlier this month, boss Thomas Frank gave a blunt response to Toney’s future, claiming he did not understand why the club would sell him.
Brentford are currently without star strikers Bryan Mbeumo due to injury and Yoane Wissa due to participation in the African Cup of Nations.
Asked how long it would take for a suitor to resist Toney, Frank said: “It would have to be incredible, so he’ll stay.“
He added: “I don’t think I’ve had a single press conference in the last year where I haven’t talked about Ivan Toney.
“So, you are more than welcome to talk about Ivan, he is a wonderful person and a wonderful player.
“He’s a Brentford player, he’s here, obviously we need some attacking players so I don’t see why we’re selling him and I’d like him here longer.“
