Chelsea are preparing to face Fulham this weekend as they look for a response after losing to Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup. Mauricio Pochettino will hope to see his side get back to winning ways after a frustrating start to the season.
The Blues will be approaching the midway point of the transfer window when they take on Marco Silva’s team at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have been linked with several notable players, including the likes of Victor Osimhen, Dominic Solanke and Ivan Toney.
When recently asked about possible incomings, Pochettino said: “I am very positive and happy with the squad. We are working, if something appears, we will announce. At the moment we are assessing and working normally, how we have been working from the beginning of the season.”
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will complete any new signings in the coming weeks. However, the club face a fresh transfer deadline ahead of their game with Fulham.
As it appears that Chelsea are not currently close to getting any deals over the line, the Blues will likely not have any debutants against Fulham, though the club are often full of surprises during the transfer window. Looking ahead to the return leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final, a new signing would have to arrive by 12pm on Monday, January 22 to feature against Middlesbrough, provided they are not cup-tied.
