Crystal Palace are in talks with Peterborough United defender Ronnie Edwards.
The Eagles have had three bids for the 20-year-old rejected, and neither club has agreed on a transfer fee or the size of a sell-on clause.
Edwards, who won the European Under-19 Championship with England in 2022, is expected to be sold this month, with other Premier League clubs interested.
Recommended by Peterborough director of football Barry Fry and chairman Darragh MacAnthony, Edwards will return to the League One promotion contenders on loan until the end of the season, particularly if he is signed by a Premier League club.

Palace is eager to
complete a deal, with Dougie Freedman, their sporting director, a long-time admirer of Edwards
When Peterborough demanded £15 million for Edwards two years ago, Freedman attempted to sign him. However, with the Posh having dropped out of the Championship, Edwards will now be sold for less.
As part of the deal that brought Edwards to Peterborough in 2020, National League club Barnet will receive half of any transfer fee.
Edwards, who was the subject of failed bids from West Ham and Swansea last summer, is in the final 18 months of his contract at London Road and is still being linked with clubs in Germany and Belgium.
