Harry Redknapp says Chelsea should have signed the £20million West Ham player years ago.
Chelsea have not been great in the transfer market in recent years.
The Todd Boehly era was bad to say the least, but before that the Blues made a lot of transition mistakes.
Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech have proved poor signings under Roman Abramovich, with Chelsea often opting for the biggest names over the best talent.
Speaking on the BBC’s Transfer Gossip Daily Podcast, Harry Redknapp spoke about some Championship talent over the years and suggests Jarrod Bowen is a player Chelsea should have signed years ago when he was at Hull City. .
Chelsea should have signed Bowe.
Redknapp shares his decision on £20m full-back.
“There are players. Look at Bowen, I remember Bowen playing for Hull in a cup game on TV one night against Chelsea and he led Chelsea with a strike but Chelsea never came after him. “A few months later, West Ham will play and see how good he is,” said Redknapp.
What a deal
Redknapp singles out Chelsea as the team that should have gone for Bowen when he was at Hull, but almost every Premier League team would regret letting him stay.
Winger is a truly incredible player and would strengthen almost any team in this division.
Bowen has proven to be one of the best signings in the league in recent years since West Ham snapped him up from Hull, and it’s fair to say the Hammers have done quite a bit of transferring here.
Unfortunately for Chelsea and the rest of the Big Six, Bowen would cost an absolute fortune if he moved now and it’s fair to say most of those top clubs would stay in that boat..
