West Ham United rejected an approach from Crystal Palace for Leeds United’s Ben Johnson.
Leeds are looking to add a full-back to their defense before the window closes with Johnson on the West Ham list.
However, Leeds are not the only club interested in adding the 24-year-old to their squad, with Premier League side Crystal Palace also in the running.
However, the Eagles could not progress because they saw West Ham’s approach rejected.
West Ham do not want to lose Johnson now and are planning a new deal for him, which has resulted in Palace saying they will not sell now.
Johnson has only played three league games for West Ham and Leeds boss Daniel Farke is an admirer of his talent.
His contract with West Ham expires at the end of June and Johnson has already rejected a contract extension from the Hammers.
The Hammers are willing to risk this expiration because they believe they can convince him of new terms..
