Hamilcar Rashed, a former Oregon State Beavers linebacker, has signed a contract with the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad, the team announced Friday.
Rashed replaces outside linebacker Tyreke Smith, who was signed to the 53-man roster of the Arizona Cardinals.
Rashed signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets in May 2021. He was on the Jets’ practice squad for the entire season. Rashed was released by the Jets in August 2022 and has since spent time on the practice squads of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Rashed has only played one game in his career. During the 2021 season, he appeared in the Jets’ 45-17 Week 10 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
