Interesting!!! Bid war between Chelsea and West ham!!

West Ham could try to sign Chelsea’s Trevor Chalobah if Nayef Aguerdi leaves this month, but there could be a major problem.

While there are many areas in their squad where West Ham could improve or add depth, their extremely limited budget means they cannot buy without selling unless they want to risk breaking FFP. A number of wingers have been linked with a move this January as David Moyes looks to raise transfer money. But our own ExWHUE has revealed that Nayef Aguerd (who usually starts for the Hammers) could be sold if the right offer is made.

It seems that he has not fully convinced the Scot and while there is no desperation to sell him, it is possible that he will not be a West Ham player at the end of the window. If he leaves this month, they could sign a number of centre-backs.

Trevor Chalobah is just one possible replacement for Ex announced. The 24-year-old has had his fair share of injury problems and hasn’t played a single minute of football this season, with Chelsea looking to offload him.

Clearly he ticks a lot of Moyes’ boxes when it comes to centre-back; he is a huge 6’4, domestic and has Premier League experience. His distribution is also excellent, which could make him an ideal replacement for Aguerdi.

Unfortunately, securing the move doesn’t seem to be easy. The Daily Mail reports that Fulham, Bayern Munich and Tottenham are interested in his services this month. In addition, Chelsea are likely to demand an extortion fee, although this should be significantly less than the £50 million they demanded in the summer.

Our irons probably don’t want to sell Aguerdi for anything less than the £30 million they paid for him. If so, Chalobah may be within their budget. It will be difficult to convince him to join us at Bayern Munich, but if he remains fit, Moyes may have found the long-term first-choice centre-back we have increasingly needed.
