Jerry Rice Ranks His Top5 WRs Ever, Placing Himself At No1

Surprisingly, retired wide receiver Jerry Rice ranked himself first on his ranking of the five greatest wide receivers in NFL history when he spoke on the Warner House podcast.

In the podcast, Rice—a former wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers—was asked to rank the top five wide receivers of all time. Undoubtedly, given how he ranked the guys, it was an unexpected and fascinating list.

In the ranking that Rice has established for himself, Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, Cris Carter, and Calvin Johnson came in second and third, respectively.

The five guys on Rice’s list appear to be pursuing an old-school strategy, but Tyreek Hill, Ja’Marr Chase, and Justin Jefferson are generational stars who will undoubtedly change things up in the future.

Future developments in the NFL will undoubtedly be shaped by questionable talent like Hill as it becomes more of a passing league. Hill is the NFL’s leading receiver in terms of receiving yards, despite missing a week due to an ankle injury. With 1,542 yards, Hill leads AJ Brown (1,314) in total yardage.

49ers All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner and Rice talked about Brock Purdy, the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, on the most recent episode of The Warner House podcast. In Rice’s opinion, Brock Purdy is without a doubt the best wide receiver in football history. Joe Montana, a former 49ers quarterback who is inducted into the Hall of Fame, is someone that Purdy should be compared to, according to Rice.
