With Pitso Mosimane eyeing a return to the Saudi Arabia Pro League, Kaizer Chiefs may have to look at other options in the meantime.
One coach Amakhosi must not forget is Muhsin Ertugral.
Ertugra had two spells at Chiefs but his first was memorable when he won four trophies in one season in 2001.
The Turkish coach jumped at the chance to return to Amakhosi after declaring his love for the club and president dr. Kaizer Motaung.
Ertugral’s first spell at Kaizer Chiefs lasted four years, helping him to the African Cup of Nations in 2001. After retiring in 2003, the former Orlando Pirates coach returned in 2007 but his stay was short-lived.
Ertugral has won a trophy in every season he has been at Chiefs and if given the chance, he could surprise many and end Amakhosi’s nine-year trophy run.
Kaizer Chiefs lose to Pitso Mosimane.
Former Black Leopards and Chippa United coach Vladislav Heric says Chiefs should give Muhsin Ertugral another chance.
“Being a coach in South Africa is difficult, nobody is patient,” said Serbian coach Soccer Laduma.
“They need a coach who can handle the pressure because the Chiefs are under a lot of pressure. Kaizer Chiefs need to play different football than they are playing now, that’s my opinion. They need to be more aggressive in defense and more pressing in attack. They need more numbers in attack.“
Heric added that Ertugral liked working with young players.
“Muhsin Ertugral will do great with this Chiefs team, he likes aggressive football. The Chiefs should consider him because most of the players there are speed and Muhsin loves that, he said.
“What I like about Muhsin is that he doesn’t allow stupid things on the pitch; he only works with workers,” concluded Heric..
