Kyle Shanahan talks about bringing in Joe Flacco, the quarterback the 49ers tried ‘hard’ to sign in 2021

While everyone assumes that the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens will meet in Las Vegas for Super Bowl 58, there is growing excitement in Cleveland about the playoff-bound Browns, who have won four straight games. Much of their recent success can be attributed to quarterback Joe Flacco’s outstanding performance.

Because the 49ers haven’t had to prepare for the Browns, Kyle Shanahan hasn’t seen many of Flacco’s performances this season. However, the head coach has done his research on the veteran quarterback in the past. During the 2021 offseason, Flacco met with the 49ers but ultimately signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, who later traded him to the New York Jets.

“I don’t believe people have ever given Flacco enough credit.”
