Manchester United is preparing a summer offer to Luton Town for the purchase of midfielder Ross Barkley.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has long been monitoring the player, ever since his performances at Nice. The footballer has considerable experience in the Premier League, having previously played for Everton and Chelsea before being bought by Nice. Last summer, he returned to England and signed a contract with Luton Town.
He has shown excellent performances throughout the season and played exceptionally well against Manchester United last weekend when the “Red Devils” secured a 2-1 victory.
According to reports from The Sun, United could sign Barkley at a favorable price if Luton Town drops to the Championship at the end of the season.
Manchester United is in need of reinforcement in midfield, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Casemiro’s future at the club, as well as Soufyan Amrabat’s return to Fiorentina after the end of his loan spell.
This season, Barkley has played 20 matches in the Premier League, scoring three goals and providing as many assists. The “Hatters” currently sit in eighteenth place in the Premier League and are at risk of relegation to the lower division.
