You are probably aware of Mediawatch’s enduring affection for the term “just hours,” which is used to characterize football players doing virtually anything after a game.
While it’s not the most common application of the technique, this one from The Sun about Ivan Toney accepting a Brit Award amused us nonetheless.
Only hours after playing in Brentford’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea, Toney gave Chase & Status the Producer of the Year award.
There are two reasons why this isn’t standard practice. One involved showing off a “gong” (classic tabloidese for that, hehe) at
