BBC pundit Clinton Morrison has tipped Chelsea to sign Newcastle United’s Callum Wilson in the coming days.
The Blues had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa last night. Emi Martinez has saved Unai Emery’s side at times, but Mauricio Pochettino knows the prolific striker can make a big difference. Morrison believes Wilson would be a bargain at £18m.

Chelsea are believed to have signed Newcastle striker Callum Wilson
Chelsea have been linked with a number of big-name strikers in recent months, but the surprise name comes from the rumours. this week Callum Wilson.
The Evening Standard reported a few days ago that the striker could be sold for £18 million before next week’s deadline and his availability has drawn the attention of Chelsea from Arsenal, Manchester United and Mauricio Pochettino.
The Blues do not have a prolific striker. Yes, Nicolas Jackson is having a good day, but he’s not ready to be the main man.
After the Blues failed to score last night, Clinton Morrison claimed he would “bite your hand off” if he were Chelsea and offered £18m for Wilson.
He said live on BBC Radio 5: “Chelsea need a centre-forward, Cole Palmer is not a centre-forward.
“They’ve been linked with Callum Wilson and if you get him for £18m I’ll bite your hand off.”
Wilson could be a good short term option for Chelsea.
We’re sure fans who support the likes of Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney won’t like Callum Wilson.
Jermain Defoe, however, called the Englishman “underrated” and certainly a better finisher than Nicolas Jackson, who has scored just seven goals in the Premier League this season – three of which came in the same game in November.
Wilson’s biggest problem over the years has been injuries. However, if Chelsea sign him and can keep him fit until the end of the campaign, he is sure to score plenty of goals.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Wilson this month, but for now it looks like he will be staying at Newcastle United..
