Newsnow;Napoli have now made an inquiry to sign the £25m  player, who is also wanted by Thomas Tuchel

Napoli are interested in signing Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea this month.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Trevoh Chalobah is the player Napoli have recently inquired about signing.

The Serie A side are now waiting to see if Chelsea are willing to let the central defender go on loan from Stamford Bridge, according to the Italian office.

In November, the Evening Standard reported that the Blues had asked for around £25 million for Chalobah this transfer window, suggesting they wanted a permanent deal rather than a loan.

Of course there is nothing wrong with trying the water of Naples. The Independent also claimed that Thomas Tuchel wanted to bring Chalobah to Bayern Munich, although that was before the Bundesliga champions signed Eric Dier.

Napoli make Trevoh Chalobah inquiry
Any club looking for a central defender at the moment is what Napoli seem to be doing considering Chalobah is very sensible.

First, he seems to be available and reasonably priced. With so much competition behind Chelsea right now, you’d expect the 24-year-old to be open to a move too.

Of course Chalobah also has experience playing in a high division such as the Premier League and a big club.

The former England U21 international can also start in a variety of positions including centre-back and right-back.

After all, Chalobah is on loan for perhaps £25 million. Napoli should try to do some kind of deal before the transfer window closes.

As for Chelsea, Chalobah will be a huge asset at Stamford Bridge if they can keep hold of him. Without the ability to secure the player’s options, it will be difficult for the club to convince him to stay in West London. So don’t rule out a move to Naples..
