The Philadelphia Eagles have regressed significantly this season. Their defense isn’t as dominant as it used to be, and Jalen Hurts has taken a step back since signing a massive contract extension, though he’s also been largely beaten. But as disappointing as the Eagles have been thus far, one unit continues to set the standard for the rest of the league: the offensive line. As PFF pointed out, the Eagles still have the best offensive line in the entire league, and it’s not even close.
They point out that even in the loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the offensive line allowed no quarterback hits or sacks, allowing only three pressures in 25 playoff games. This offensive line tormented the opposition from the beginning to the end of last year. They were the reason why the now infamous “Tush Push” or “Brotherly Shove” was so effective and unstoppable because they are too dominant. Nick Sirianni’s side have a lot to sort out as they head for four defeats in their last five games. They need to get back to basics, find their groove, regain their confidence, and they only have one game left in the regular season. At least they can always be confident in the offensive line’s ability to take care of their quarterbacks, and Jalen Hurts will always have plenty of time and space to operate and A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
