Chelsea have failed in their first official attempt to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon.
The Blues have already been linked with several strikers during the January transfer window, including Viktor Gyokeres.
It has now been speculated that Mauricio Pochettino’s side have launched an attack to try and bring the Sporting talisman to Stamford Bridge.

Reports claim that Portuguese giants Sporting rejected Chelsea’s bid for Gyokeres in recent days.
It is understood that Chelsea have just made a bid worth €85m (£73m) for the in-form striker, which was immediately rejected by the club.
The report makes it clear that Sporting will not fall under the player’s €100m (£86m) release clause.
The Blues could probably make another bid before the end of this month’s transfer window.
Chelsea bid rejected for Viktor Gyokeres
Gyokeres has been in sensational form for Sporting this season, so Chelsea fans may be pleased to hear that the club have made a serious attempt to sign him recently.
The Swedish striker scored 20 goals and provided 10 assists in just 24 games in all competitions, a phenomenal return from his first half in Lisbon.
As you remember, he only played for Coventry City in the second division of England last season.
Gyokere described by Maxime Biamou via X as “unplayable” in 2022. He has started to rise to dizzying heights as he enters his prime years.
We are still skeptical that he has never scored a Premier League goal before, but he is an excellent first team player with physical form and technique. This is certainly the type of player that Pochettino’s Chelsea side at Stamford Bridge will really miss.
We are very interested to see if Chelsea decide to pay £13m to bring Gyokeres to West London in January..
