The ‘best in the world’ forgotten Chelsea player can help Pochettino save his skin

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is ‘worried’ after the Blues dealt a setback to Nkunku.
Pochettino’s side has had a dismal start to the season, winning just eight of their first 20 Premier League games and finishing 10th in the table. Several players have underwhelmed in terms of creativity and spark.

Injuries have also played a role in Chelsea’s demise, with several stars forced to watch from the sidelines as their teammates falter on the field. Pochettino, on the other hand, provided a welcome update ahead of his team’s match against Fulham this weekend, revealing that Chilwell is likely to be named to the matchday squad.

The England international hasn’t played for the Blues since late September, when he scored in a 1-0 win over Fulham.

Brighton is playing in the EFL Cup. Pochettino’s team has struggled without him, and his return to fitness will give his manager plenty of options.

Throughout pre-season and the early stages of the campaign, Chilwell was tasked with learning a new role as he was deployed out on the left wing. The ex-Leicester City star was a ‘work in progress’ in the new position, though showed plenty of potential given the outlet that he provides.

Chilwell’s move further forward may mean that Levi Colwill could also slot into the Blues’ starting XI at left-back. However, the role has not suited the English prospect and shifting him back into centre-back could unlock his true ability.
