The Chicago Bulls’ outstanding December performance may have dampened calls for a roster overhaul, but this team’s ceiling is low and it is far from title contention. While the team is willing to part ways with All-Star Zach LaVine, it appears that it will not be for a package that will allow them to start over.
According to a report from HoopsHype’s Michael Scott “The Bulls are currently valuing players who can help them win and a potential draft pick, depending on the incoming player(s), over tearing down the roster completely and rebuilding by taking expiring contracts and more draft picks.”
To that end, the Bulls would be wise to target the following players at the trade deadline:
Tyus Jones is having a career year with the Washington Wizards, averaging 12.6 points on 53 percent shooting and 5.5 assists per game now that he is no longer in the shadow of Memphis’ starting point guard Ja Morant. However, the Wizards are rumored to be willing to trade their starting point guard in exchange for high draft picks or a young player with a lot of potential.
“A pass-first point guard like Jones might connect this roster the way Lonzo Ball once did,” Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley wrote.
