Travis Kelce breaks his helmet and Patrick Mahomes shreds the O-line in a viral tirade during the Chiefs’ battle with the Raiders.

Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, lost control of his emotions on the sidelines following the team’s 20-14 loss against the Las Vegas Raiders. Meanwhile, following a string of disappointing plays on Christmas Day, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce flung his helmet onto the field.

Mahomes took a hard stance against his offensive linemen who were on the bench after Kanas City’s offensive output was minus-18 yards. It was a disappointing night for the Chiefs. Notably, after Las Vegas scored two defensive touchdowns in quick succession, the Chiefs were down 17–7 to the Raiders despite managing just 121 yards of total offense in the first half.

Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco took a direct snap, fumbled an exchange with Mahomes in the backfield, and the Raiders scored their first defensive touchdown. In just 7 seconds more, Las Vegas produced another outstanding defensive touchdown. After reading Mahomes pass intended for receiver Justin Watson, former Chiefs CB Jack Jones raced 33 yards into the touchdown zone to give the team a 17–7 lead.

Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes’ tantrums against the Raiders on Christmas Day took center stage.

Despite leading the AFC West with two victories against the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, and Raiders, the shocking loss on Monday further damaged the reputation of the reigning Super Bowl champions. Kelce and Mahomes’ passionate outbursts against the Raiders defense were a reflection of the team’s inability to maintain composure.

Interestingly, despite the late effort in the fourth quarter, the Chiefs receiving corps did not raise any eyebrows. Andy Reid, the coach of the Chiefs, moved swiftly to avert another sideline tantrum from Kelce. By his high standards, the tight end’s season has been modest; he has only twice surpassed 100 receiving yards. It’s been more than two months since Kelce hit that threshold.

Considering his subpar season thus far, Kelce has not yet found his feet. It has been two months since the tight end has surpassed 100 receiving yards. Against the Raiders, he caught five passes for 44 yards. He may not finish with a thousand yards for the season, which would be the first time since 2015.

The camera repeatedly focused on Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift, who were clearly distressed. There was a collective sigh of relief at Arrowhead Stadium when, with 2:35 remaining in the fourth quarter, Zamir White’s game-winning 43-yard run prevented the Chiefs from closing the deficit.

The Chiefs, who were just 7-2, are in a slump offensively in front of a difficult postseason schedule. In a difficult Christmas Day game, Mahomes completed 27 of 44 passes for 235 yards and was sacked four times.
