The 49ers finished first in the NFC and 2023 NFL Regular Season PFF Grades 039.
Many stars, such as quarterback Brock Purdy and defensive end, reached McCaff’s Christian historical mark during the whole season signs and played a key role in the success of San Francisco.
With the main series officially over, 49ersand#039; star players stayed for the regular season.
QB Brock Purdy – 88.4
Purdy showed how comfortable he can be on the field after an offseason under coach Kyle Shanahan, and his stats were impressive to say the least. The quarterback’s 9.64 yards per pass attempt led the league and is the highest among eligible quarterbacks since St. Louis Rams quarterback Kurt Warner’s 9.9 yards per attempt in 2000.
Purdy also led the league with a 113.0 passer rating, the highest by a 49ers quarterback since Steve Young’s 112.8 passer rating in 1994.
According to PFF, Purdy’s 80.2 percent completion percentage and 143rd passer rating were tops in the league. Purdy’s completion percentage on deep passes of 20 yards or more downfield was also a league-best 63.8 percent, with the most yards per attempt (20.3 yards) and 11 touchdown passes, tied with the Jacksonville Jaguarsand#039; Trevor Lawrence.
RB Christian McCaffrey – 90.6
McCaffrey showed how much he can drive 49ers’ rushing attack for a league-leading 1,459 yards, which was 292 more than the second-ranked Tennessee Titans’ Derrick Henry (1167). The All-Pro’s 929 yards after a touchdown was just one yard second ahead of Henry, who had 930 yards after a touchdown.
The Stanford product also forced 60 missed tackles to tie the Arizona Cardinals’ James Connor second in the league. Jacksonville’s Travis Etienne had the most tackles this season with 64.
McCaffrey’s 44 rushes of 10+ yards were a league best, along with his 20 carries of 15 yards or more. The manager also posted a whopping 83 rushing yards for the first time.
McCaffrey has proven that he is just as productive in the air as he is on the ground. The quarterback had the most first downs (31) and his seven receiving touchdowns were a league best. .
WR Brandon Aiyuk – 92.3
The fourth-year wideout led the league with 60.4 percent of his targets and 81.3 percent of his receptions leading to a first down or a touchdown. Aiyuki’s rating was second only to the Miami Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill (93.7) and his 3.01 receiving yards per route ranked third in the league.
Purdy had a passer rating of 126.8 when targeting Aiyuki, third highest among all wideouts in the league.
TE George Kittle – 87.6
All-Pro led the league in both his season grade and 1,020 passing yards. Kittle’s 15.7 yards per reception led all tight ends with 20 or more receptions, and his 477 yards are third.
LT Trent Williams – 89.7
Williams’ total was second best behind the Detroit Lionsand number 039; Penei Sewell (90.7). It snapped William’s three-year streak as PFF’s top tackle (2020-2022), but the All-Pro showed he still has what it takes to dominate the position.
Bosa’s overall grade tied with the Dallas Cowboys and number 039; Micah Parsons second best behind Cleveland Brownsand #039; Myles Garrett (93.6). The All-Pro’s 95 quarterback pressures ranked third behind Parsons (103) and the Detroit Lions’ Aidan Hutchinson.
DT Javon Hargrave 73.9
Hargrave and the defensive line took a few weeks to get used to each other, but the linebacker still posted an 87.2 passer rating on the season, fourth-most among inside linebackers behind the New York Giants’ Dexter Lawrence (92.6), Los Angeles Rams’ Aaron Donald (91.5) and the Kansas City Chiefs’ Chris Jones (90.3).
Warner is PFF’s top off-ball defender this season, leading all positions with four forced fumbles and four interceptions. The All-Pro’s 90.7 run defense is third behind the Miami Dolphins’ David Long Jr. (93.4)and the Seattle Seahawks’ Bobby Wagner (91.5).
CB Charvarius Ward – 82.6
Ward earned his first Pro-Bowl nod after leading the league with 16 PFF ratings. The cornerback’s season grade was ninth in the league, while his 63.0 passer rating allowed was sixth among all cornerbacks..
