Bela director Florent Ghisolif confirms that Chelsea target Jean-Clair Todibo is not for sale.
OGC Nice sporting director Florent Ghisolfi has made a dent in Chelsea FC’s pursuit of Jean-Clair Todibo, insisting he has no intention of selling their prized defender.
Premier League trio Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur want to sign the classy defender whose defensive prowess has seen Nice concede just 11 goals this season – the lowest so far in the French top flight.
His performances were rewarded with a call-up last year and the 24-year-old made his debut for France in the 14-0 thrashing of Gibraltar. Considering how well he has performed this season, Todibo has certainly been linked with Europe’s top clubs and keeping hold of the star player will be difficult with many clubs looking to sign him.
However, Ligue 1’s sporting director has confirmed that they have no intention of selling Todibo (h/t Metro). Ghisolfi answered the reporter’s question:
”As we said from the beginning, we work for stability, and stability keeps your best players. Jean-Clair and Thuram are definitely those players and leaders because they are vice-captains. We definitely want to keep them.”
Every team wants to keep their best players and Nice’s sporting director is no different. It is understandable that Nice wants to keep Todibo and Khephren Thuram, their two best players. But in today’s sport, money talks and it remains to be seen if Chelsea can make the Frenchman an offer they can’t refuse.
Bela manager Florent Ghisolif has confirmed that Chelsea target Jean-Clair Todibo is not for sale.
Bela boss says Jean-Clair Todibo is not for sale.
A player like Todibo is made for Major League Soccer and his performance maturity is impressive. Whichever club he joins next season – it all depends on how much money they’re willing to spend on him – he’s a great inclusion. Hopefully it’s Chelsea Blue and not a direct rival.
His amazing performance will see his stock rise and by next summer we can expect Nice to put a hefty price tag on him that might be hard to afford. But then the best players never come cheap and the Ligue 1 giants know they have just such talent..
