HLN reports Crystal Palace wanted Daniel Munoz has refused to train with Genk. The Colombian plans to move to the Premier League this January, but at the moment the Selhurst Park team have not reached the Belgians’ valuation of the player. The first offer was rejected, as was the second increased offer. Genk is still seeking a payment of around 10 million euros.
The 27-year-old right back is one of the best in his position in the Pro League and his offensive numbers have been very impressive lately. This season, the defender has five goals and one assist in 17 matches. In the 2022/2023 season, Munoz scored eight goals and provided five assists.
Munoz’s contract expires at the end of the current season, but Genk have the option to extend it for another year. Therefore, they may be looking to get maximum value for one of their key players. Like Gerardo Artea, who has also been linked with a January move, the team will likely want to find a replacement before selling Munoz.
At international level, Colombia defeated Muñoz 23 times..
