Netflix Sets Premiere Date for One for the Ages: The Ed Orgeron Story
An intimate look into LSU’s legendary coach lands on August 15, 2025
Netflix has officially announced the release date for one of its most highly anticipated sports documentaries of the year — One for the Ages: The Ed Orgeron Story. The documentary, which chronicles the larger-than-life journey of Louisiana State University’s former head football coach, Ed Orgeron, is set to premiere on August 15, 2025.
Known for his gravelly Cajun accent, passionate leadership, and unforgettable 2019 national championship run, Orgeron became a symbol of grit, pride, and redemption not only in Baton Rouge but across the college football landscape. This new documentary promises to go far beyond the headlines, diving deep into the triumphs, controversies, and deeply personal moments that defined his LSU tenure.
Produced by Netflix Sports and directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Ezra Edelman (O.J.: Made in America), One for the Ages features exclusive interviews with Orgeron, former players including Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase, athletic director Scott Woodward, and SEC rivals who witnessed firsthand the cultural impact of “Coach O.”
The film is expected to offer never-before-seen locker room footage, behind-the-scenes conversations during LSU’s historic 15-0 season, and emotional moments from Orgeron’s personal life — from the pain of losing his dream job to the pride of leading his home state to glory.
Netflix describes the documentary as “a story of passion, resilience, and the pursuit of greatness — told through the lens of a man who never stopped believing in himself, or in the people of Louisiana.”
As fans and college football enthusiasts await its debut, one thing is clear: One for the Ages won’t just be a documentary — it will be a celebration of one of the most unforgettable chapters in LSU football history.
